progressive learning program for students of yoga - PLP
the step towards a deeper understanding
We are excited to introduce our learning concept in yoga we call the ‘Progressive Learning Program - PLP
What is PLP: Progressive Learning Program?
A course progressing over one year (currently offered every year: next group commences August 2012) designed for enthusiastic students of Iyengar Yoga who are looking for a structure which will guide them in furthering their understanding of yoga asanas and philosophy – this is a one year lecture and practical attendance based course. The emphasis is on how to do and how to practise Iyengar Yoga:
* Practise – Adhyasa & Vairaghya * Method – Yogasana * Philosophy – Darshana
While the Progressive Learning Program is complete as a course, it is also the pre-requisite to be accepted into the Yoga Jivana Study to Teach Yoga Course (STTY) . The PLP leads yoga students towards becoming self-reliant yogis & yoginis. Some participants discover after an in-depth study of yoga, that they are drawn to becoming teachers whilst others are not. Therefore, we see the PLP as a perfect way to honour the desire to explore the art & science of yoga, regardless of where the path may lead.
Who is PLP for?
This course structure is for anyone with at least two years of regular yoga practise in Iyengar or other yoga disciplines who wish to expand their knowledge. Not suitable for beginners – a minimum of yoga practise at Yoga 1 level required.Non-Iyengar Yoga students are encouraged to attend Iyengar Yoga classes while participating in PLP units.
Note: PLP course (or equivalent) is the pre-requisite to the Yoga Jivana STTY course for those wishing to study to become an Iyengar Yoga teacher.
