Treading The Path 2007 – 2010 Teacher Training Program
The 2007 – 2010 Teacher Training Program in Iyengar Yoga conducted by Peter Scott - Senior Intermediate 2 Iyengar Yoga Teacher is now in full swing. This specialised program started in June 2007 and due to requests from students wishing to join, Peter has just completed a successful bridging course. This bridging course has allowed these new participants to become part of the 2007 - 2010 program.

Peter has been teaching Iyengar Yoga since 1982 and training teachers in Iyengar Yoga since 1990. He has developed the Program for Teacher Training in Iyengar Yoga from his years of experience to help yoga students’ progress seamlessly from being in the class to standing in front and teaching the class.

Yoga teaching is firmly based on subjective understanding, as it is the delivery of the experiential knowledge derived from personal practice. Naturally for western yoga students the Teacher Training Program includes knowledge based objective study as well as the subjective, experientially based learning drawn from daily yoga practice.

Peter has specifically developed this approach to provide a clear and effective method of learning the art and science of yoga teaching. This course, as is required by Shri BKS Iyengar will be conducted over three years.

The basis of the Teacher Training Program lies in the cultivation of a strong personal yoga practice and the exploration and study of yogic principles and wisdom. The program requires a dedicated commitment to ongoing practice and study between the contact sessions so it is important that participants be self-motivated.

Peter’s Teacher Training Program has a unique format that is presented in four stages. The stages are progressive and contain focused modular formats – with each module containing it's own aims, goals and assessment. The stages and modules are dovetailed together so that each is separate from yet linked to previous modules. This enables a progression of knowledge and understanding, and the development of maturity in the process of yoga and self-realisation.

Successful participants will be eligible to partake in the Iyengar Yoga Association of Australia Certification Assessment, a process that has worldwide recognition.
